Largo is Pinellas County's third-largest city and one of the densest pool markets on the peninsula. Most of it was built out between the 1960s and the 1990s, which means a lot of screened cage pools attached to single-story ranch homes, a lot of original plumbing runs, and a lot of equipment pads that have been patched more than once. Alpha Pool Service runs weekly routes through Largo out of our St. Petersburg base, about fifteen minutes south. Close enough that when your pump goes down on a Friday in August, you are not waiting until the following week.
Our standard Largo service covers everything a Florida pool needs to stay swimmable year round:
We also take one time jobs. Green to clean recoveries, post-storm cleanups, and pre-listing or pre-rental turnovers are all common calls for us in Largo.
We service pools across all of Largo's residential zip codes, including 33770, 33771, 33773, 33774, and 33778. Areas we run regularly:
Bardmoor and Bay Pointe. Larger homes, larger pools, and a high share of properties with heaters, spas, and variable speed pumps. These pools reward consistent chemistry and regular equipment checks.
Harbor Bluffs and Belleair Bluffs. Closer to the Intracoastal, which means salt in the air and faster corrosion on rails, ladders, and pad hardware. We watch for it.
East Bay and Largo Central. Established neighborhoods with mature oaks. Heavy leaf and pollen load in spring and fall, and that debris is the single biggest driver of algae in this part of the city.
Ridgecrest, Imperial Point, and the Walsingham corridor. Mostly mid-century in-ground pools with screen enclosures. Older surfaces and older filters, which we service accordingly.
55+ and manufactured home communities. Largo has more of these than anywhere else in Pinellas, and community pools have real compliance and clarity requirements. We handle small commercial accounts and we show up on schedule.
If you are just outside these areas, call anyway. We serve Seminole and Pinellas Park directly to the south, so there is a good chance you are already on a route.
Largo sits inland of the beaches but close enough to the Gulf that the west side still gets salt exposure. Combine that with our rainfall, roughly 50 inches a year concentrated in a brutal summer wet season, and the chemistry problem becomes obvious. A single heavy afternoon storm can dilute your chlorine and swing your pH, and untreated water in 90 degree heat turns green in a matter of days, not weeks.
The other Largo-specific issue is age. A pool built in 1978 with a filter replaced in 2009 behaves very differently from new construction. We inspect the pad on every visit because catching a failing pump seal or a cracked union early is the difference between a small part and a large invoice.
We are a local independent service with a 5.0-star rating on Google, not a franchise routing your account through a call center. You get the same technician week after week, someone who knows your pool, your equipment, and your gate code. We communicate when something looks off, and we quote repairs before we do them.
Call (727) 510-2029 or use the form on our contact page. Tell us your zip code and roughly how big the pool is and we will give you a straight price. New Largo customers welcome.
